What night riding feels like
Night tours operate after sundown using bright LED headlamps mounted on each machine plus reflective markers along the route. The trail network looks completely different in the dark: features that read as ordinary in daylight become dramatic, and the absence of distant visual cues changes how you perceive speed and distance. Most riders describe the experience as more peaceful and slightly more focused than a daytime ride.
Safety considerations specific to night
We restrict night tours to riders who have already completed a daytime ride with us in the past three years, or who provide credible documentation of equivalent experience. This is because reading terrain at night requires familiarity with how snow surface and shadows behave, and we don’t want first-time riders learning that skill in the dark. Pace is reduced compared to daytime, the route is shorter, and we maintain tight group spacing to ensure no one rides outside the lit perimeter.
